Sukoluhle Development Centre uplifts individuals through education, skills training, and social support — helping people build independent, sustainable futures.
Sukoluhle Development Centre (SDC) is a community-based non-profit dedicated to uplifting individuals across KwaZulu-Natal.
We focus on creating growth through education, skills training, and social support to help people build independent, sustainable futures. Rooted in the heart of our community, every programme we run is designed with one goal in mind — lasting, meaningful change.
We provide a wide range of services designed to empower the community from the ground up.
Tutoring, enrichment programmes, and career guidance for students — equipping the next generation with knowledge and direction to succeed.
Training and mentorship to help individuals start and grow their own businesses — turning ambition into sustainable livelihoods.
Support for home gardening, small-scale farming, and sustainable food production — nurturing food independence at household and community level.
Direct initiatives to assist vulnerable communities and promote self-reliance — meeting immediate needs while building long-term dignity.
Moments from our programmes — education, farming, skills training, and community life across KwaZulu-Natal.
To build a thriving, self-sufficient, and empowered community where everyone has access to education, skills, and sustainable income.
To fight poverty and promote long-term sustainability by providing:
Real stories from the people whose lives SDC has touched across KwaZulu-Natal.
SDC gave my daughter the tutoring she needed to pass her matric. Today she is studying nursing. I never thought it was possible for our family.
The agriculture programme helped me start my own vegetable garden. Now I feed my family and sell the surplus at the local market.
Through the entrepreneurship training, I launched my sewing business. SDC believed in me when no one else did. I now employ two other women from my street.
The poverty relief programme came at our lowest point. SDC didn't just give us food — they gave us tools and knowledge to stand on our own again.
